TechnomancerTool is a free, unofficial reference and analysis tool for Warhammer 40,000. It answers rules questions with citations, builds and validates army lists, runs combat maths, and analyses tournament data.

It is built and run by one person, as a hobby project, under HAXAH LLC (Michigan, USA).

It is free, and it stays free

Every feature is available to everyone at no cost. There is no subscription, no paywall, no advertising, and nothing is for sale. Donations are voluntary and grant no features, higher limits or better answers — they only offset server and API costs.

Usage limits exist to bound abuse and running costs, not to sell you an upgrade. They are identical for donors and non-donors; signing in raises the limit because usage can then be attributed to an account, and signing in is free.

TechnomancerTool is unofficial and is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Games Workshop Limited. Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 and all associated marks, logos, names, races, vehicles, characters and images are either © or ™ and/or ® Games Workshop Limited, used without permission. No challenge to their status is intended.

This tool is not a substitute for the official published rules — please buy them. Answers here can be wrong; see the terms.

On AI

Answers are generated by a language model, but no model is trained or fine-tuned on Games Workshop content. The system retrieves the relevant published rules at the moment you ask, passes them to the model as context, and cites them back to their source so you can check the answer yourself. If the retrieved rules do not settle a question, the tool is instructed to say so rather than guess.

Where the data comes from

• Rules and datasheets — Wahapedia and the community-maintained BSData catalogues.
• Points and detachments — Games Workshop's own published Munitorum Field Manual.
• Tournament results — event data used in aggregate for statistical models.
