TechnomancerTool is operated by HAXAH LLC (Michigan, USA), doing business as TechnomancerTool. This page explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. Questions: legal@technomancertool.com.
The short version: we collect what the site needs to work, we sell nothing and share nothing for advertising, and there are no third-party trackers or analytics on this site.
What we collect
If you create an account
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Sign-in, account recovery, service notices |
| Username, nickname | Identifying you in the app and in leagues |
| Password (hashed, never stored in plain text) | Authentication |
| Discord username (optional) | League organisers contacting players |
| Time zone (optional) | Showing event and league times correctly |
| Daily message count, last login | Applying abuse limits |
When you use the app
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Chat messages — your questions and the answers | Showing your conversation history; diagnosing bad answers |
| Army lists, collections, league and match records | The features themselves |
| Store details you submit — name, address, opening hours, photos | Store and league pages |
If you are not signed in
Anonymous chat use is tracked by IP address and a cookie, solely to enforce the anonymous daily message limit. Without this, the limit could be bypassed by clearing cookies alone.
If you donate
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We store a Stripe customer reference so donations can be reconciled for accounting.
Who else sees your data
We use a small number of processors, and none of them get your data for their own marketing:
| Processor | What they receive | Where |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | The text of your chat questions and retrieved rules context, in order to generate an answer. Do not put anything confidential in a chat message. | USA |
| Stripe | Payment details, if you choose to donate | USA |
| Hetzner | Hosting — the server and database the site runs on | Germany |
We may also disclose data if legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of users. We do not sell personal data, and we run no advertising or analytics trackers.
Cookies
We use cookies only for things the site cannot work without:
- Session/authentication — keeping you signed in.
- Anonymous usage cookie — enforcing the anonymous message limit.
- Preferences — stored in your browser's local storage (theme, text size, last visited page). These never leave your device.
There are no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
- Account data — until you delete your account.
- Chat conversations — until you delete them, or until you delete your account.
- Anonymous usage records — rolling, and pruned once the limit window has passed.
- Donation records — retained as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Backups — deleted content persists in backups until they age out in the normal cycle.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile page — it happens immediately and does not require emailing us.
You can also ask us to access, correct or export your data, or object to how we process it, by writing to legal@technomancertool.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the UK or EEA, you additionally have the rights granted by the UK GDPR / GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract (providing the Service you asked for) and our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and available.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Passwords are hashed. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to the production database is restricted to the operator. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.
Changes
We will update the "last updated" date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced in the app.
